Kate Hudson, an actor with a lot of talent is most well-known for her performance in the Hollywood film Almost Famous. This resulted in her being awarded an Academy Award nomination. She was born into a film family, Hudson was destined to make waves as a child. Her mother Goldie Hawn was an actor in film and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. Since her early years she was a performer and would seize every opportunity to perform on stage. As a youngster her parents taught her dance classes and she studied at the Santa Monica Playhouse. In 1996, she was given an appearance as a guest in the TV drama Party of Five. After being accepted into New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to make a living in showbusiness and not earn an education. After a couple of minor films and a few short films, she was offered the role that would prove to be her big break in the field. Kate was picked to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. The film didn't do very well in terms of box office revenue however it received good reviews from critics. It established Kate as an actress in the American film industry.
