Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk is daughter of a Briton and the son of a Turkish Cypriot English ex-pat. Anna appeared in numerous commercials as a kid. Anna moved to Toronto in November 1999 to pursue her acting talents.
