Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Prior to learning how to read or write, she composed her own music. Once she had her first instrument at age of 8, she began to play at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. That same year, she recorded her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. In high school She made her mark local, but longed for a larger stage. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time was searching for a female singer on his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. The two split in 1974, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to the top spot at No. 1 for the first time in 1974.
